“Drawing ad infinitum” exhibition at the Pompidou Center

It is through the graphic work of the artist that the Pompidou Center celebrates Pablo Picasso. This unprecedented retrospective of more than a thousand works plunges the visitor into the heart of the master's creative process. For the artist, drawing is synonymous with an invention that is always renewed: line work allows Picasso to immerse himself in innovative thinking, in which the different types of lines question classical drawing.
In addition to highlighting Picasso's various artistic periods, the exhibition brings together recognized masterpieces and drawings presented for the first time. It is a real immersion in the heart of the artist's work that is offered to us.
From October 18 2023 to January 22 2024
Pompidou Center, Place Georges Pompidou, Paris 4
Every day, except Tuesday, from 11 am to 9 pm | Nocturne on Thursday until 11 pm

“Gertrude Stein and Picasso. The invention of language” at the Luxembourg Museum

The Luxembourg Museum pays tribute to an extraordinary friendship between two 20th century icons: Pablo Picasso and Gertrude Stein.
Divided into two parts, the exhibition offers a dialogue between the paintings of the Spanish master and the texts of the American poetess, while exploring their links with the avant-garde artists of the time, such as Henri Matisse or Jean Cocteau, and their influence on the various figures of Pop Art. The title “The Invention of Language” supports this last point: the exhibition shows how both introduced a revolution that was decisive for the arts of the 20th century.
From September 13 2023 to January 21 2024
Luxembourg Museum, 19 rue de Vaugirard, Paris 6
Every day from 10:30 to 19:00 | Nocturne on Mondays until 22:00

The visual artist and photographer takes a curious and quirky look at a selection of Picasso's works, drawing inspiration from them to tell her own story. As the floors go by, Calle lets us enter into her intimacy. The exhibition, although multi-thematic, is based on a question: what memories does an artist leave of himself to future generations?
