THE EXHIBITION “MIRÓ. DRAWINGS, GOUACHES AND PASTELS” AT THE AB GALLERY

This collection of original works on paper, initiated about ten years ago by Agnès Aittouares and Eric Martin, gives a chronological account of how the Catalan artist created a unique artistic universe, oscillating between dream and reality, the abstract and the figurative.

Joan Miró's entire work is steeped in writing, drawing and poetry.
Drawing is the root of his work, the starting point for his paintings and sculptures. It serves as the basis for his most extensive artistic explorations. It is a way to express yourself in total freedom, without rules or constraints. But above all, for Miró, it is an art in its own right.

From his first surrealist works to his latest abstract creations, Miró remains true to his quest for artistic expression, defying conventions and constantly pushing the boundaries of creation.

The exhibition “MIRÓ - DRAWINGS, GOUACHES AND PASTELS” is accompanied by a catalog.

Drawing is the root of his work, the starting point for his paintings and sculptures. It served as the basis for his most far-reaching artistic explorations. It is a means of expressing himself in total freedom, without rules or constraints. But for Miró, it was above all an art form in its own right.

From his early Surrealist works to his latest abstract creations, Miró remained faithful to his quest for artistic expression, defying convention and constantly pushing back the boundaries of creation.
