Hans ARP

Hans Arp, also known as Jean Arp, was a Franco-German artist, sculptor, and poet, born September 16, 1886 in Strasbourg and died June 7, 1966 in Basel, Switzerland.

He was a key figure in the Dadaist movement and Surrealism, two artistic movements of the early 20th century. Hans Arp was particularly known for his biomorphic sculptures, where abstract organic forms were created from materials such as wood and stone. He was also active in the fields of painting and poetry.

His works often reflect his interest in irrationality, chance, and automatic creative principles. Arp was one of the founding members of the Dada movement in Zurich during the First World War, and he also participated in the Surrealist movement in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s.

His work influenced numerous artists and contributed to the evolution of modern art during the 20th century.
