Geer van Velde (1898-1977) was a Dutch painter associated with the Lyrical Abstraction movement and the École de Paris.
He was born on April 5, 1898 in Lisse, in the Netherlands, and died on March 5, 1977 in Cachan, France. He was the brother of the painter Bram van Velde, and both brothers played an important role in the modern art world. Geer van Velde first worked as an industrial designer in the Netherlands before moving to Paris in 1925.
