This gouache was used as a set design for “Bolivar”, an opera by Darius Milhaud, an argument by Jules Supervielle and choreography by Serge Lifar, whose sets and costumes Fernand Léger designed by Fernand Léger.

First performance on May 12, 1950 at the Paris Opera.
